I’m finally getting around to trying out the Re:Vision FieldsKit demo in Premiere CC 2015.2. It seems to work quite well when applying the effect to clips in a regular ol’ DV sequence that’s been changed to progressive (Except, of course, for the dramatic watermark “X” and logo!). Just wondering if this is the best way to use FieldsKit when editing old home videos for use on YouTube.

ALSO, and more critically, I can’t figure out how to implement FieldsKit when using interlaced SD footage in a 1080p timeline. I’d like to mix old analog tapes with footage from a Canon DLSR & Samsung smartphone at 1080p. But if you simply drop an SD clip into a 1080p timeline and apply FieldsKit, it just shows a blank image with the dramatic watermarking “X” and logo. Any idea what the optimal use / workflow in this situation is?

Or… if you have any other recommendation for more sophisticated deinterlacing methods, I’m open. 🙂
