So obviously editing the png sequences in FCP is more sluggish than editing natvie DV files – but I’m trying to save the intermediary format and save quality at the same time.

We render from 3ds Max 720×480, 29.97 png sequence – and deliver as a 729×480 h.264 QT file for on computer playback (fullscreen)

We’d like to eventually jump this to an HD format…

Any hardware suggestions to speed the editing up?
