  • Anyone running PPro CS3 in XP on a MacBook Pro?

    Hi,

For various reasons, I’m trying to decide between a MacBook Pro or a Dell of the same caliber.

All my software is PC based, and I’d mostly be using the MacBook Pro to offload footage from my SxS cards from the Sony EX1.

Also, I might do some quick edits in PPro CS3 on site.

    Anyone running this configuration?

What type of performance hit/increase would I see?

    Any issues?

    Thanks,

    Jim

    Hi Jim,

Im affraid i cant answer your question, but was hoping you could answer one of mine!

We are about to do a shoot with the new EX1 and want to double check some things about downloading from the memory cards.

We are planning to download straight onto a MacBook Pro.

We know we need to install drivers, but will we need FCP6.0.2 installed? Or will 5.0.4 do?

    Apple states:

“Final Cut Pro 6.0.2 includes support for the Sony XDCAM EX format, but it requires the installation of the Sony XDCAM Transfer software and an XDCAM EX plug-in. For more information about this software, go to the Sony website at

    ” target=”_blank”>https://www.sony.com/xdcam.”

So…6.0.2 definetly supports it, but what about previous versions?
