  Anyone running MC 3.5 software on Mac Pro 2.26 Quad Core Intel Xeon?

  I know Avid has certified only the 2.66 and higher, but they say that that’s only because they didn’t have a 2.26 to test MC 3.5 on. Does anyone have any real world experiences running on a 2.26 Quad core? I need to upgrade my old G-5 and don’t want to spring the extra money for a 2.66. I don’t want a Windows machine because I also need to run Final Cut. I am cutting mostly broadcast and feature docs OFFLINE edits at lower resolutions then uprezzing for color correct and sound design on a different system.
