Anyone looking at the Sound Devices 688?
We are in the market for a recorder/recorder mixer. I’m very familiar with SD 788T, and love it. I’ve used the Zaxcom Nomad, but would be too non-intuitive for use across our department.
The new 688 Looks awesome. Anyone have any thoughts or opinions? Looks like main draw compared to 644 is 12 faders on front and of course the SL-6 option.

With the intro of the 688 the used market is becoming loaded with 664’s at about $3500. The 688 is mechanically a 664 w/o some extra features. If you don’t need the SL6 option then a used 664 is a great buy.
