    Hi!

I have a close up shot of the viewfinder of an old camera and I’m trying to create a “flash” effect inside it. I’d like the flash to initiate inside the viewfinder but then explode the entire frame with white light. Anyone have any ideas?

    Thanks alot!!

As in a still camera taking a picture is being video taped?

Or as in there is a random light leak inside of a film motion picture camera?

Smells like you may want to use an adjustment layer with a mask and EXPOSURE/LEVELS/CURVES to blow out the lights….and animate the mask out to dip to white…

You might have a look at Aharon’s “How to create a Film Flash” tutorial for some pointers…

    Thanks for the suggestion!

I used an adjustment layer on both the image in the frame and the camera image and then offset the exposure to get it to blow out. It worked really well! I’m not sure what the curves effect does, though? I applied it but didn’t notice a difference.
