  • Anyone interested in doing some Beta testing for DA templates?

    Greetings,

I hope I am not breaking any forum rules. If I am, it’s unintentional. I’ve been a Cow reader for many years and finally started talking on the forum a little bit this year. I need to chime in more. That being said, I’ve been working on some templates to be used in DVD Architect. They were brought about by short comings I came in contact with when I tried some other third party products for menus from .psd files and using the (what I find unattractive) menus provided with the program.

I have gotten the initial version done to where it saves me a bunch of time, and I think it looks pretty good too. What I hope to do is have them for sale for a minimal cost (helps keep the wife at home with my 3 boys). That being said, I thought I would see if anyone would be interested in pounding on them to see if what other thought, and what someone else would want.

I love DVD Architect, but it does have some short comings with design, so this is phase one of a product that is aimed at giving designers a quicker way to design menus and discs with out having to redesign the whole thing every time.

Here is a link to a .pdf that gives a pictures of what I am talking about.

The idea would be is you have a DA template, artwork for the box art and disc cover that all match. Not a new concept at all. Just perhaps a newer design.

Let me know if you are interested, or perhaps just chat on some of the things you wish you had available in Architect.

I look forward to opening this dialogue. PM me if you would be interested in a BETA-ing.

I am interested, but am not sure of the legalities surrounding seeking payment for DVDA themes. Perhaps one of the more experienced Cow leaders on this forum can advise.

You might also want to get in touch with Frederic Baumann who is developing a plug-in for Vegas and may have advice on how to proceed in this instance.

I’ll give them a whirl. I’ve used DVDA pretty thorough and have used psd’s as templates.
Let me know where to get them.

    Scott,

The final product does, but the beta for right now only includes picture frames as your frame/mask button.
