Anyone here used Chyron’s Lyrics for titling? As oppsed to DEKO?
Hello again.
Our network had been using Title Deko with our Symphonies for a few years now,and it serves us well.
However, the powers that be wish to explore Chyron’s Lyric Avid Plug-ins as an alternative while visiting NAB. I’ve seen the product literature, but can only find one actual USER’s comment online.
Are there any users of the Lyric on these forums with a similar system (Symphony)…perhaps even a user who can compare it’s ease of operation to Deko?

Beats title tool but much more power still exists in After Effects.
It can be a time saver if just cranking out quick news type of stuff. If going for pretty and more options, I’d skip it and just keep leaning on AE.

I use the Lyric plug-in because all our production trucks use Lyric. I find that render time is slow and it sometimes makes my system crash. I get around this problem by pre-building my graphics and saving out as targas.

I’m finding that image imports don’t seem as sharp as the clips
generated by the Lyric plug-in. (I’m using ver. 6.1) The render time
makes the plug-in unusable for us. Do the newer versions (6.5 / 7) address this?It’s interesting that images exported by Lyric for subsequent importing into Avid also appear soft. What does the Lyric plug-in do that an external image with alpha can’t replicate?
