    Hi guys.

Does anyone know any good formats for mastering HD projects. We’ve recently started to do HD work.

The current process for Standard Def projects is:

SD video comes in -> edited

    then:

mpeg2 & wav files created as reference format for DVDs -> uploaded to video server
mpeg1 800×600 created as reference for CD-ROMs, Web video, etc. -> uploaded to video server
Beta SP master created -> stored for safe keeping

Obviously, we can layoff the completed HD sequences back to an HD tape, but what about duplicating the mpeg2 and mpeg1 formats that we currently use at the moment.

    Does anyone have any ideas?

    Thanks.

Sorenson Suite 4.5 offers HD MPEG2 encoding. You could duplicate exactly your current conditions. Not sure about the MPEG1, but I’d use H.264 instead of MPEG1 for HD on the web anyway.
