  • Anybody Using Kona for Audio Out?

Can anybody comment on using the analogue outs from a Kona card (specifically the LHi) to monitor audio? I’m particularly interested in D/A quality. I’m not expecting the world but if it’s subpar I’d prefer to run through a dedicated interface.

We use the AES digital signal from our Kona3 into our mixer which does the D/A and A/D. But as all the other aspects of the Kona are first-rate, I expect the analogue audio out would be perfectly fine. We use the analogue audio out from our older AJA IO and it’s excellent.

I don’t regularly use it, as most everything is done through the digital connections, but the analog audio quality is very good. There’s absolutely no need for a separate audio interface as far as audio quality is concerned.

Sounds like it’s definitely worth giving the Kona a go before looking into alternatives. Thanks for the replies.
