Anybody got any ideas for generating ’24’ style picture in picture templates quickly?
Hi,
I need to build a few sets of templates for picture in picture effects in the same style as Fox’s ’24’. The way I’m doing it in the Avid at the moment is layering the video then applying separate picture in picture effects to each layer. It works but it’s a bit tedious. Does anyone have any ideas on a quicker, easier way of doing this please?

Create a sequence that is a build of one of these, then u can lay the sequence into the timeline each time, and replace the media before or after.

Photoshop. Create a black solid, punch holes in it, save with alpha. Drop clip underneath in the timeline, resize and position.

Create PIP effects and save them with obvious labels to one bin for only effects. Names like Upper Right 25% scale. Lower Left 50% scale Right Crop 25%. Then you can just drop the effect that represents the box you need on the clip you want, tweak a little if necessary, done!
