Anybody from buffalo NY??
Posted by Frenchie29 on December 10, 2007 at 2:47 amMight be a bit off topic but I did some google searching and nothing concrete came out.
I would like to do the trip from Toronto to Buffalo to buy a dvx-100b and so far all I could find is online stores, anybody knows a few stores in Buffalo where they sell the dvx??
Thanks

December 10, 2007 at 3:26 amI suspect you’ll need to go all the way to NYC to get it- is it worth the dough though? They are sold mail order in Canada too…

you know any reputable online stores?
The thing is, by judging the difference between getting it from the US and Canada is almost $500, from the stores that I know in Toronto.
I’ve seen a good deal on ebay brand new for around $2400 with some extras.
Would you guys buy a used one?

December 10, 2007 at 1:30 pmPersonally, I would purchase from a reputable and authorized Panasonic dealer. As for purchasing used. If I couldn’t put my hands on the unit, I wouldn’t even consider it, and even then, buying “used” electronics (not to mention the delicate nature of a MiniDV tape transport) is an “iffy” proposition, or so I think.
If you’re using the unit for commercial work, how many (more) jobs would you need to do to have the DVX pay for itself?
Stuff like this is worth the price new (as far as I’m concerned)just for the peace of mind.
Good Luck,

December 10, 2007 at 3:41 pmThat’s true, I got burned a few times buying used, last time was a parametric EQ I paid $100 for it and cost me the same in repair.
I really need to find a reliable and affordable place in the States, forget about buying it in Canada, the price difference is ridiculous.

December 12, 2007 at 2:36 pmTrue enough I suppose but you’ll end up wishing you had bought in Canada when it comes time for warranty service as you’ll likely be sending it to the states. $500 is not that bad for the convenience of not having to wait forever to get it repaired.

December 14, 2007 at 1:50 amI’ve received a list of authorized dealers from the Greater Toronto Area, and was surprised that there’s only 4 of them, and 2 of them always overprice their merchandise.
I found these 2 places online
https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16830180049
https://www.buydig.com/shop/product.aspx?sku=PNAGDVX100B
Anybody bought stuff from those 2 places?
