Just dusting off an old July 4 spot, I have the blank “unavailable effect” transition in Media Composer 6/BCC 8. Yes, it was created in MC5.5 using BCC7, some kind of noise wipe in the background transitions. But I can’t find anything out about it to re-create it. Any ideas?

    Hello Scott,

It seems like it may be some sort of Radial Wipe with noise. If you could export and AAF of the sequence we can take a closer look at it here on some older systems. You can send that directly to me at jeremye@borisfx.com.

    Thank You

    Scott,

I took a look at the AAF in text view and the only transitions it alludes to are Avid Plasma Wipe HD Frazzle. I believe this is one of the Avid Plasma Wipes that has to be installed separately via their Avid Goodies installer.

    Thank You

Thanks Jeremy, that makes perfect sense… now!
Why the nice people at Avid make you jump thru those hoops, I’ll never know.
For future reference, how do you look at the AAF in text view?

    best,
    Scott
