I have footage shot on a 5D where the audio is 2-3 frames out of sync from the video. Anyone who has used this camera has probably run into this.

On the slate the audio is two frames early. When I sync automatically it sync’s to the camera’s audio, making the sync’d production audio two frames off. If I put on markers that compensate for this, it still seems to default to the original audio waveform from the camera for the sync reference.

Is there a dialog box somewhere to tell FCPX to add a plus or minus “X” amount of frames in the process?

I’m not seeing a way around this.

    Any help would be appreciated.

ALSO, Please note that I am not talking about drift or differing sample rates. Thanks in advance.

I haven’t done sync in an event but did you try “open in timeline” by right clicking on the clip?
