New to Media Composer here and slowly finding my way around.
I’m starting to feel the power – but one thing is driving me nuts…

If I start watching my open sequence and then for some reason switch window – the sequence stops playing.
I may be switching to a bin to see what I have that might be useful as cutaway, or I might be reaching for the master fader to turn down the audio (because MC overrides every other way I have of adjusting my audio levels for some reason).

Is there any preference that I can switch to change this behaviour?

No there is no way to do that and has been a long time request. There are only a few things you can do during playback like adding Marks, Markers, add edits and with a supported controller, a mix on the audio.
