    Hi
When we do hd editing out to the lcd screen it looks great but if we want to see the colours and contrast better we light to look at it our sony broadcast monitor(connected via the s-video output). Only problem is its downconversion is rather blured. Is there a way of sharpening this up or is output over component give sharper results.

    thanks

    Hi,

S-video is better than composite but still not wonderful. Component is much better quality and it would be good if you could test with a component monitor and see if it looks clearer to you. Many LCD TV’s have component input on them as well as HDMI. However I’ve noticed that the analog inputs on many LCD TV’s can be quite poor so it’s a good idea to use a high quality component monitor whether it be a BVM or PVM or perhaps an LCD TV with low-noise analog inputs.

Please also ensure that you are running the latest Multibridge 6.1 drivers.

Hi Luke. Thanks for getting back! Unfortunatly we cant test the componant yet as out sony pvm monitor doesnt have component inputs- but we looking out for another monitor (with componant)on ebay.

If we place a high definition clip onto a standard def timeline the quality is supurb(out through s-video)So it seems that the down conversion is doing it.(Maybe its just the s-video)

Has anyone else noticed this on their monitors using either s-video or component outputs?
