I’ve been a Varicam user until recently, and I have much respect for this camera’s color. I’ve just been using a f900 for a few weeks now and am impressed with the detail, but the picture just looks a bit flat. Not enough punch and not the same sort of color that the Varicam produces. The Sony rep suggested dropping the gamma which only made things worse.

I realise that the picture can be graded up but its nothing close to as “wow” as the Varicam would do. I also realise that conditions change, but I havn’t had much joy in ANY conditions.

Does anyone have any suggestions? I’m hesitant to go TOO far from default, as I don’t want to jeopardise the value of my stock with weird settings. I’m looking for a little more aggression with regard to color and contrast.

    Thanks
