  • Any tutorials on converting HD NTSC to PAL?

Posted by Zeno Pierre on December 25, 2009 at 5:11 am

I have footage that was shot on a JVC camera, saved in a FCP file on a DVD disc. I was able to load the footage from the DVD onto the FCP timeline.

How can I covert it to PAL?

I have tried to understand the posts in this forum but everything is in bits and pieces. Are there any step-by-step instructions or tutorials available any where? Or is this process done by purchasing more software?

    I have a Mac OS X, 4 x 2.5 GHz PowerPC G5.

    Any hope?

    For free, use Compressor.

    For $99, Nattress Standards conversion.

The best way to convert HD NTSC to PAL is to find a production facility that has a Terranex converter. It’s a very expensive hardware box and is really the only clean way to make this conversion.

Compressor I’ve never used for this.

Nattress Standards Converter we’ve used sparingly for SD material only. We’ve never gotten good results with HD material.
