Any tricks to fix over-sharpened video?
Posted by Perry Kroll on September 16, 2014 at 10:44 pmI’m working on a project with a ton of mixed media sources, and some clips were shot on a Canon Rebel that unfortunately had sharpening turned up all the way in the shooting profile.
Anyone ever come up with a clever way to at least partially fix this?

Thanks

January 19, 2015 at 2:47 pmThanks for sending that through Chris. Sorry, I’m pretty new to After Effects, is there a simple way to explain how I use one of my video files with your template to try it out.
Thanks

March 14, 2018 at 1:09 pmFolks, I’m dealing with a similar problem.
Footage was over-sharpened in-camera on the DJI Osmo. [The cameraman made a mistake.]
I’ve tried the AE template but all I see is a weird coloring effect and no effect to image sharpness.
I see the edge blur, texture, color, grain, on/off effects applied. But I don’t see any real effect on the footage:

“find edges, shift alpha as luminescence, levels-alpha white/black. set as alpha matte for fast blur .2. should smooth the black edges.”I believe your instructions will work, but could you break them down so I can recreate them?
