  • Any recemmendations for an hdv deck player?

Curious to know if anyone using a Canon Xh A1 has had good experiences using an hdv deck. I’ve heard that no decks support canon’s 720p capture into FCP.

Anyway, with my recent purchase of mac pro, money is somewhat tight but still need an adequate deck player so don’t burn out my heads on Xh A1 capturing all the time into FCP.

    Thanks…

Look for a Canon HV20, HV30 or HV40 consumer HDV camera. They play all flavors of Canon HDV. I’ve been using an HV20 for years with only 1 issue. Play the tape a bit before launching FCP to assure the deck and format is properly recognized.

Thanks Joe – just priced an HV20 on ebay (starting bid at 300.00). Do you know if there is any indication on the camera that states how many hours clocked on unit?
