Any reaction to a “new” Varicam with less “noise”?
All,
I was notified by a local vendor that a modified Varicam is going to be released within the next month or so with these basic differnces: Any feedback or clarification would be appriciated.1) Blue channel to nave a 8db decrease in noise.
2) Red/Green channels to have 4db decrease in noise.
3) No change in tape transport. IE: will not use the 1200a transport.That was all I was told.

My first question would be to find out if older Varicams can be upgraded?

There will be an announcement soon and any speculation is just that. There has been no “Official” announcement from Panasonic so please stand by for the “Official” scoop and that announcement will come only from me.

Guess we need a HD gossip forum !!!. Or maybe the manufacturers should create the “gossip” department.
Not joking, the customer interest for knowing what the manufacturers are developing is, in IMHO, right.
