    Hi,

We’re trying to use RE:Map at the moment to UV wrap a 4k texture onto a figure for the purpose of masking/animating surface shapes across the body: to create mattes which reveal the actual 3D render of the same thing as a through them, if that makes sense!? Final output is 1080.

We’re still getting jaggys even at 32bpc and just rendering one frame is taking AGES even on a 2012 12-core (24 threads) Mac Pro.

Are there any ways to improve render quality in AE and speed up the processing? GPU (a la Twixtor et al) would be a big help as we could throw a couple of big cards at it, but as it stands its not really workable solution.

Thanks in advance for any help people can offfer.

    Jim.

If your project is 32b float, set Warp Mode to “Check UVs” – do you see white dots?
If so there migth an issue with your UV map generation.
Need more info here (format, render generating it in what app…)

As for speed, what size is the UV image (I know you said the texture is 4K)?

Yes it would be nice to have some GPU magic here, as you have seen we just gor RE:Flex on GPU which has some parent code. So the hard work is being done in background, not sure when this will happen still though.

    Pierre
