  • Any ideas/experience in using Darwin Stream Server for WMV?

Posted by Dan Warvi on January 23, 2006 at 6:19 pm

Everyone raves about Darwin, but one feature I need is this: IS there any way to get it to stream WMV to a Windows Media Player App? Is it 3rd party plugin, software, hack?

Any imput or ideas would be appreciated!

    Thanks!

Nope, no WMV support in Darwin. You’ll need to get Windows 2003 server for that.

    Ben:

Can you respond to me off-line about your consulting rates? I’m involved in a project to stream video to mobile devices, and there’s some issues with how to get one clip of full-sized broadcast video to batch process to 3GPP, Real, WMV, & MV4.

    Thanks!
