    well
    simple way: use change to color effect. that effects change a color: for example red becomes blue.
    But the effect change a color “realistic”. in this case the color isnt quite real.

    other way(simple but a bit time consuming): Masking!

    Just create a mask around that ball (mask on new adj. layer) and animate the mask so that it stays on the ball. dont be confused when the ball isnt visible. just mask it where u think it is.
    after that create another mask to subtract the ball when its isnt visible. draw it around body of the guy in that parts where the ball overlaps. then change the mask to subtract.

    now apply a Hue/Saturation effect and check colorise and play with the settigns to get a color you like.
    then u can add a glow effect curves, levels , or whatever u want to adjust the color even more. To get a nice outter glow copy the adj layer and apply fast blur to it and of course increase the value so u like it
