April 28, 2006 at 6:56 pmThere is also a book entitled Adobe Premiere pro 1.5 STUDIO Techniques by Jascob Rosenberg. There is a 7 pages chapter on the PPro Color Corrector and 16 pages on Color Match and Color Effects.
It is a 500+ pages well illustrated book, part of the Total Training Collection, it includes Video Tutorials on DVD and is available on Amazon.

April 28, 2006 at 9:18 pmthe hullfish book is amazing. good history lesson on how things got the way they are too which really helps using color correction in any application, plenty of applied techniques too. there literally is nothing out there that compares to it. i have bought about 8 copies for friends in the biz. seriously, ask anyone who really knows color, they have read it.

April 29, 2006 at 9:31 pm[Steven L. Gotz] “That’s the one I have.
I also have This One!”
In one of the few times that I differ on opinions with Steven…and being that I even write books for Focal Press…the Stuart Blake Jones book was one that I parted with the full retail price for and I can’t recommend it.
He spends a lot of time on a day in the life of a colorist or his philosophies for a good portion of the book. There are, despite the title, very few step-by-step scenarios that are helpful.
I’m not saying the whole thing is awful, but at this point I’d lean toward the Hullfish book, which is even a bit Avid-tilted, but the authors do describe the basic strategies well enough that you can transfer them.
