    Any Blackmagic decklink experts?

    Hey guys,

    Does anyone knows how to setup a blackmagic decklink HD extreme 2 so that I can capture video coming from an HDMI input (1080i)?

    I bought this converter https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/produc…VGA_Audio.html that outputs the video coming from the graphics card to 1080i but I’m still not able to configure my Decklink HD extreme 2 so I can capture the video to FCP 6.

    In FCP 6 this are the settings I tried…

    EASY SETUP
    Format: Blackmagic RGB 10 bit
    Use: Blackmagic HDTV 1080i 59.94 – 10 bit RGB 4:4:4
    Rate: 29.97

    AUDIO/VIDEO SETTINGS
    Sequence preset: Blackmagic HDTV 1080i 59.94 – 10 bit RGB 4:4:4
    Capture preset: Blackmagic HDTV 1080i 59.94 – 10 bit RGB 4:4:4
    Device control preset: Non-controllable device (since the video is coming from the converter that comes from the VGA out of the computer)
    Video playback: Digital Cinema Desktop Preview – Main

    I have a mac pro quad-core, 16GM ram, and a GSPEED ES 4T Raid to store the video.

    I read the entire manual and there is nothing that shows you how to deal with this… Any suggestions will be GREATLY appreciated!!!

    To Capture this quality you need a fast RAID.
    Try Blackmagic ProRes Capture.

    First. Check your Decklink control panel in the Mac system preferences. The input must be set to HDMI.

    I have a pretty fast RAID (G-SPEED ES) and I already setup the blackmagic to capture form the HDMI input in the mac system prefs but still no luck…

    I just tried to capture from the HDMI output of a graphics card to the HDMI input of the blackmagic and this is what it showed at first:

    Then I tried reconnecting the cable and this happen:

    I have no idea why the screen turn like this… and for some reason I’m still not able to capture any video before windows starts… All I want to be able to do is to capture the BIOS setup of a computer without actually recording a monitor screen using a video camera… any ideas?

    Try 50i settings?
    Try other capture settings?

    All the same?
