This is a little different than an earlier post, and yes I’ll openly admit that we should have delayed getting the footage until this was taken care off. Now to to the problem…

So we had a shoot a few weeks ago. We’ve got about 180 clips (aprox. 5 secs a piece). Each take is probably at least 3-4 minutes a piece. Our audio guy didn’t realize they didn’t sync the mastered audio to the video and I didn’t realize he had the mastered audio. All of the videos have been edited, and subclipped at this point.

Now it would be easy if the mastered audio was the same length as the master clips or if the time codes of the subclips could be tied to the master audio, but neither is true. So now it’s a tedious process of trying to sync those back up.

I realize this is a result of bad workflow, but this is the first time I’ve ever needed to deal with pulled mastered audio back into picture.

Does anyone have advice to make this less of a painstaking process?

I don’t get what you are describing.

Do you have TC on the audio or not? (BWF or QT audio only)
If so, it ‘should’ be doable, but if there is no reference at all…

Please try to describe more in depth what you have.
(i don’t get what you mean by take / clip)
