    Hey everyone!

I have some footage taken from a helicopter but it very shaky. I remember seeing a plugin or technique a while back that eliminates shakiness in the footage. does anyone know of this plugin or technique?

this would be a very big help, thanks!!

Motion track it to stabilize it.
Easy enough to do…..you will have to ‘scale’ the footage up though so that as it is stabilized the edges do not show…..
Look under stabilize and/or motion tracker in AE help/manual…………….

    Frederic –

The Foundry makes a plugin called Furnace which has both a stabilizer called Steadiness, and a retimer called Kronos, which is part of the package. I don’t know how Steadiness works, but it is able to stabilize a piece of footage without any tracking points (I think it calculates the motion in the scene and then creates an inverse motion). Anyway…it works like a charm. It’s a little over 300 dollars (US), but worth its weight in gold in the time you save over tracking it the old way. Here’s a link:

2d3’s SteadyMove will do it without tracking points, and it works very well. But, at $500, too pricey for a one-time stabilization, but if you need to stabilize regularly, very much worth the price.
