  • Another Vegas Copy Paste Question??

    Hi Everyone,
Now that I know how to copy and paste into one project to another, I need to know how to take my track motion keyframes along with it. I’m using three different tracks in this particular project. I set up two of the tracks for track motion from the main window from each track. The other track, I’m just using the Pan/Crop Tool as needed. My problem is that when I copy and paste my track keyframes are not included. This of course leaves my pictures motionless. When I copy, I use the Select All tab under the main edit tab from the toolbar. There’s got to be a simple answer, your help would be most appreciated. Thanks, Ray

You can open Track Motion on one project and select all of the keyframes by swiping them with your mouse. Then copy and paste them to the Track Motion of the new track in the other project. The simple approach is to use nested projects.

    Good Evening John,
I’m not sure what you mean by “swiping the keyframes with my mouse.” Is this done on the time line in the keyframe area? Also, you mentioned it simpler to do what I want to do with nested project’s. Am I right to assume projects that are rendered? Thanks again for everything. Ray

Open Track Motion and at the bottom is a little mini-timeline with all of the keyframes. Drag your mouse over all of them to highlight them. Then you can copy and paste them into another track even if it’s in another project.

Nested projects do not have to be rendered. If you have Vegas Pro (6, 7 & 8), you can drag and drop a project (.veg) file onto the timeline and it will be treated just like another piece of media. To edit it, you can right-click and it will give you an option to edit the nested project in a new instance of Vegas. This is not supported in the Movie Studio versions.
