Another STRESSFUL situation in Premiere, but found IMPORTANT fix!!! Editor’s make NOTE!
I was editing and making a mad dash to get another edit out for a client, and this project has so many folders and things set up to search things by topic and location, etc. One of the main location folders some how got deleted! And I was freaking out, because this edit covers 4 locations, and you can’t edit a video with 4 locations featured, if you only have three locations! So, I tried this, and IT WORKED!!
I went back to a previous project file, where and when I knew I had ingested the media and organzized the footage by location, and coming from an FCP7 background, you can ope multiple “projects”, and COPY folders from one project to another, in this case, copy the folder from one project back into another, thus restoring your missing location footage folder. Well in Premiere Pro, you cannot have multiple projects open.
I copied the folder from the old project, closed the project, opened the current project, and hit “PASTE”, and BOOM! It’s there!! Yea!!
So for anyone in this same situation or find media accidentally being deleted somewhere or somehow, remember this tip, though you cannot have multiple projects open at once, you can copy media from one project file to another, yea!!
