ANOTHER SIMPLE QUESTION
I hope you guys can help me with this — –
Once again, I have upgraded from Vegas Audio 2.od to Vegas 5 – and I’m having some difficulty with the differences – especially those that are NOT in either ‘Help’ or in the Vegas 5 manual.
On Vegas Audio I have a toggle switch in the tool menue for “simultanious playback/record” – and since I almost NEVER use this feature, I have it turned off by default.
Vegas 5 does not have this.
So NOW – every time I record on a track – I am also playing back AND RECORDING the stuff on parallel tracks – it’s very frustrating.
I use a laptop – with Win 2000 Pro – and just a simple in/out that most laptops have.
I have come up with two possible solutions – but they are both very “clunky” – the first one is to keep the ‘recording’ sound card active – and have it set to “line in” – but then if I want to record from a cd – I have to change it to “cd” – and if I want to record from the microphone, I need to change it again to “microphone” and so forth – – very clunky….
The other solution is to mute all of the channels except the one I am recording – I have not tried this, but in theory it should work – but that’s really clunky too.
You guys have any better ideas – – I hope??
thanks
