another frustrating one..
Posted by Scott Witthaus on March 24, 2006 at 8:42 pmIs there any way to see the TC window on the Log and Capture screen when you are actually digitizing? The window covers up the one area that shows where the tape deck is during a capture.

March 24, 2006 at 8:51 pmI monitor all my captures on external monitor out of deck. My DSR-11 will show TC without sending it to the FW port and onto the FCP capture.
That’s an option.

March 24, 2006 at 9:23 pmyeah, but this time I am capturing from a Dbeta deck (HD downconverts) from a machine room that is a long way away from the FCP suite. Kind of nuts that in the FCP IO you cannot see where the machine is at during a capture. Lets hope Steve Bayes brings that little piece of Avid heaven to FCP6!

March 25, 2006 at 3:26 amIf you need to “see where the machine is” during capture, you can set your digibeta deck to generate a TC window and “Status” in its output. Also, can’t you move the “capture window” so that the picture doesn’t cover your numbers? Don’t quite understand what your asking for.

March 25, 2006 at 4:55 pmHi Mark –
I am an old avid and ds guy so forgive my ingorance of these new fangled softwares.
Right now I am digitizing a clip from Dbeta from Log and Capture. When I set the in and out points, I can easily see where the machine via the window on the upper right of the screen. However, when I go into Capture Clip, the new ‘preparing to capture’ window covers the window that shows the tape machine current tc (as it is digitizing) in the Log and Capture window. there seems to be no option to separate the two during capture.
Also, is there a ‘tape eject’ button in the L & C mode that I am missing?
Thanks in advance…
