    Thanks ahead of time –

So I have most of my FCP shortcuts mapped out automatically in P6 – but I am still missing a few things that I am sure are here somewhere –

    1. T – TT – TTT – option selections in the timeline – is this here at all? Very convenient once you get into a large edit and need to select/move hunks of stuff

    2. Selecting the actual CUT you make on a clip to delete it. For instance – you make an edit with the blade tool to split a clip – LATER – you want to select that cut and delete it recombining the clip – but in PP6 you can not select the edit without being in some trim mode. Any way to just select the CUT itself without being in a trim mode?

    3. SNAPPING – it works – but there is no drag with BLADE in the timeline – so how do you know snapping is on if your blade tool doesn’t DRAG to the cursor point when you want to slice? Where is the SNAP in the snapping? There is drag (or SNAP) when you move clips around I see. Just not when using the blade tool.

    4. OPTION ARROW up/down to move a selected clip to an adjacent track in timeline – this seems missing to me and I use it all the time – same with OPT/SHIFT DRAG to copy a clip to an adjacent track. This stuff comes in handy when the edit gets large.

    5. 5.1 tracks? Why are they there? Can I get rid of them some how? Is this some preset “feature” I can de-select or just go and change so the audio track is just an audio track?

    Thanks again for the help.

[David McClellan] “1. T – TT – TTT – option selections in the timeline – is this here at all? Very convenient once you get into a large edit and need to select/move hunks of stuff”

We have the tool, and it works basically the same. Check the toolbar and look for the Track Selection tool: https://adobe.ly/10Np0xs

Please make a feature request for “Join Through Edits”: https://www.adobe.com/go/wish

Snapping in Premiere Pro is not as evident as in FCP. However, if you’re even close to the playhead (not cursor, BTW), and then make a splice with the razor blade tool, you will definitely create a cut at that point. FCP users are not typically satisfied with that, so make a feature request for “better visual indicators for snapping”: https://www.adobe.com/go/wish

Your first query is a feature request: https://www.adobe.com/go/wish.
For your second request, you only need to press Option prior to dragging. You do not need to press Shift to constrain vertical movement because it does that automatically.
