  • Another edl problem with fcp and alexa, (just before dav)

Posted by Umut Ergin on May 19, 2011 at 1:59 pm

    Hi,

I have a alexa materiel of Apple prores 444 log C. As usual after the editing, I’ll try to export a edl of sequence to conform in Davinci. But this time, not a visible problem, But the edl file is composed of the title and the rest of it is empty.

I look at the, like they say in this forum, reel names. it is ok. So what is the problem? I try to export a baked quicktime for to recut in fcp. it doesn’t work. the edl is always empty.

    Thank you for helping.

As always, if you need us to comment on your edl, please share it and we might see the problem.

Is your timeline in FCP single or multiple video track ?

Could you have selected the wrong video track when you exported the EDL in FCP ?

If the EDL is empty, there’s nothing Resolve can do.

You should check video source switch in FCP timeline.

Where V1 is your working video track.

In the same vein – I’ve had sequences from editors where they have consolidated their edit into V1 for me and deleting all unused tracks which will delete the v1 button as well if it was in 1 of those tracks. You need to add tracks until you find it and move it to V1 and close like Andrew shows and make the EDL

You don’t have to add tracks to find source label. Just click the [V1] button, and it will stick active source to this track.
