    Hi,
I read the posts on the crawl “flicker” problem, it was great, very informative.
I’m doing a crawl for film 24 fps. I did all the math and it makes sense.
In your method, I’m moving my crawl at 6 px per frame. If I wanted to
change the rate to 5 px per frame I’m adding about 25-30 seconds to the length of the crawl,
and that is too much time to add.
I was wondering if setting your last keyframe (both first and last keyframes are
moving at a linear rate) to an even pixel per second number, would be doing the same thing?
Also, is there a difference in working with eps files that need continuous rasterization,
compared to psd text that has been rasterized?
I feel like I’m still getting a flicker in the crawl and the rate is definitely slow enough.
I’m making a mpeg quicktime at the same frame rate 24fps to preview the 2k crawl files.
    -thanks

the easy way to make slight tweaks to the duration of the credit roll (or text crawl) would by to make slight adjustments to the scale…. if you credit list (or line of text for a crawl) is very long, a 1-2% change in scale may decrease the number pixels enough to shorten the duration needed for the move.

    Hi,
Yes, its a real live motion picture true 24fps film. I know about the digial “film rate” or 23.976 fps. Yes, the end titles are moving from top to bottom, but maybe you have something there
and I’ll go right to left next time – I like that idea. Having the crawl move at an integer pixels per sec. answers my question. I guess the options as you mentioned is to tweak the scale or condense the lines in the text file, that’s if I’m locked to a time range.
    thanks for the help!

yep, to keep whole pixel movement, there are really only two variables, duration of the move and the length of the list. the movement per frame is derived from those. other factors that get involved, like frame size, frame rate etc. are determined by format.
