Okay, I finally got VirtualDubMPEG2 to work. Now, however, when I save as an .avi I get ridiculously large file sizes upwards of 30 gigs for one .vob file. Is there another sort of compression that I could use to clean some of this up or do I just need to go and purchase a larger external firewire drive? Thanks for the help guys.

I can’t imagine what codec you are using that would cuase that. I would suggest going to the Panasonic website and download their DV codec. It used to be available for free, I don’t know if it still is or not. Premiere really likes working with the Panasonic DV codec and it is considered to be very good.
