  • Another Color Match Problem…

Our church currently records it’s services using three cameras and a switcher. We record from the switcher to a hard drive. I think it is important to know that we use a component output from the switcher into the hard drive.

    Here’s the problem:
I imported the recorded clip into Premier and did a quick scrub (as usual) to see if there were any anomalies. Here is what I found:

It seems that somewhere, one of the components was lost. I have tried using the color matching tool in Premier but have had no luck. I would appreciate any help that I can get.

    Thanks,
    Brent

As your signal seems to have lost an entire third of it’s colour spectrum I’d say you’ll be hard pressed to fix it perfectly, but your best approach is with hue.

Thanks. That’s what I thought, but I figured I would see if anyone had any additional insight.

    Thanks,

You can probably fake the missing color channel using one of the channels that IS there.

Photoshop or After Effects will allow you to do this. There’s a recent thread in the AE Forum where strong red lighting yielded an image that effectively only had a red channel.

You might want to take a look for some ideas.

It won’t be a simple fix and it probably won’t be an exact match, so you’ll need to decide if the footage is worth the time/effort.
