I’m trying to digitize DVCAM from a DSR-11 deck into FCP 5. In the middle of a take it will abort and report a timecode break, where there isn’t one. I’ve switched the preferences to not abort, make a new clip & warn afterwards, but it still either aborts capture or says “locating timecode break, press escape” The logged clips are each around 3 minutes. I haven’t logged anything longer than 10 minutes. All the preferences seem to be right and there’s plenty of drive space (LaCie external firewire 800). I’ve repaired permissions, ran tech tool on all the drives, rebuilt the desktop, but the problem persists. Can anyone think of something I’m missing?

A workaround would be to capture “around” the problem and then make FireWire dub (no generation loss) of just the section that’s “bad” to another camcorder or deck. Then capture that section from the dub tape.
