    Hi BlackMagic Design,

I found a bug in driver 5.7.2. When in Adobe Premier 1.5, using WIN XP SP2, and a Decklink Pro card, I found that when I export an MOV, captured from Deck Control, to an AVI, Premier immediately fails and the program exits completely.

I tried version 5.7.1 and the same result happened. BUT when I installed version 5.7, the export worked without a problem.

All video is uncompressed 10 bit NTSC and is exported to 10 bit NTSC AVI. My copy of Premier Pro has the “Mainconcepts Premier Pro 1.5 media encoder update” installed.

I have to Gigs of RAM and I’m using a Supermicro X5DA8 motherboard.

    Hi

Please can you first check that you have updated Adobe Premiere Pro to 1.5.1 from the Adobe site.
I have attempted to replicate this issue without any problems.

This may be isolated to your system.

    If so please email pcsupport@blackmagic-design.com

    Thank you .

    Thanks Andrew,

I did update to Premier Pro 1.5.1 and installed QuickTime Pro 7.3.1. & Decklink v5.7.2

The result was very troubling. My October 19 post, titled “Just found another 5.7.2 bug” explains in more detail what happened. Here’s a copy of it:

    Hi BlackMagic Design,

I found a new bug in driver 5.7.2. when in Adobe Premier 1.5.1, using WIN XP SP2, using a Decklink Pro card, and using QuickTime Pro 7.1.3.

I found that when I open an MOV, captured from Deck Control, Premier does not output any sound at all. When I export this media as an AVI and bring it in to Premier, I still get no sound from this media (if the MOV is in the timeline or in the project window). If I open this AVI file and put it on the timeline, when I have no MOV files in the time line or Project Window, playback of sound is correct and normal.

When I play the MOV file in QuickTime player or the AVI file in Windows Media Player 10, the sound is correct and normal.

All video is uncompressed 10 bit NTSC and was exported to 10 bit NTSC AVI. The QuickTime files where captured at 10 bit. My copy of Premier Pro has the “Mainconcepts Premier Pro 1.5 media encoder update” installed.

I have to Gigs of RAM and I’m using a Supermicro X5DA8 motherboard.
