    Hi There,

I am having real problems, I have a model of a macbook with textures applied. I cannot figure out how to create a single duplicated mesh of all its components with the textures applied in the right areas.

    Please can someone help me!

    Jethro.

OK so I have scoured around here and other places and i still cannot figure this one out. I have tried making selection tags for each of the elements and the connecting them all. The selection tabs appear along with all the materials onto one new mesh, but the mesh still has no materials applied and appears the default colour.

What is it that i am doing wrong?

    My workflow is like this:

Polygon selection – select all polygons in sub-mesh
    Selection – set selection
Rename selection tag to sub-mesh name
Select material – drop set selection into material selection tag

    Repeat for all other sub-meshes

    Select all sub-meshes – Connect

that should work, try it in another scene (using 3 editable cubes or something like that) does it still not work?

    Hi Brian,

Your suggestion works fine. It seems as though the material jumps when i do a connect. It stays on the correct part of the model, but its orientation changes. Is this something to do with UV mapping? I tried spatial and the jump issue seemed to be cured.

Also, i noticed that a glass material did not translate well in the final connect. Is this usual behavior when using this technique?

    Regards,

    Jethro
