Hey does anyone know of a program that will allow you to use a pen tablet to write annotations over video? I shot a presentation where the speaker used a laser pointer to highlight different parts of the slides used in the presentation. My client wants me to duplicate that effect on the slides they are giving me to drop into the video. Any thoughts?

PS I use both Mac & PC so I have the ability to crossplatform software if necessary.

Yes I did think to shoot the PowerPoint pres with another camera, the only problem was to light the presenter, we lost quality on the PowerPoint camera…to much to use the footage.

    Thanks in advance,

    Steve

Well, if you can wait for Motion 3, it has a paint function now that would work with a tablet…

But if you can’t, I can think of many ways you could do this in AE or FCP or even Motion 2… does it have to be exactly the same highlighting? Or could you be “creative”?

    Jerry,

Thanks for the info. I have done some research and have two solutions. First, PowerPoint has the awsome functionality to actually write on a slide and …….annotate it. Since I have a PC and Camtasia Studio, I can capture the annotation.

Now even better news, The folks who make Transmit have a new app that allows you to write on screen and with my Snapz Pro software, I can capture the annotations. Here is the Panic website that has the annotation software. https://www.panic.com/desktastic/buy.html

When Motion 3 is released that will be the best solutions, as my other two require screen capture software and a guess at how big the video will be.
