    hi experts,
i’d really like to learn how to make the amazing images, with colorful patterns, or flowing waves of light etc, kind of trippy perhaps, in the style you see a lot of in the movie Matriculated (Animatrix).
can anyone point me in the right direction? is adobe after effects suitable for that kind of thing? or maybe it’s better done in a 3d software? are there any tutorials out there for something like that?
    thanx

All of this stuff can be done in AE, but you shouldn’t expect to find a one-click solution anywhere. As so often in life it’s all a matter of combining tools. The flowing waves of light will be the trickiest part as they probably were created using a custom software. The AE equivalent would be AEFlame (a freee third-party plugin), but it’s difficult to predict and control. The “tripiness” ius mainly just simple displacements wobbling up the image and then of course there is tons and tons of glow, also.
