  animation question on Flame Sword emitter

  This is probably pretty simple but I am having problems so here goes.

  I am trying to animate the Flame sword emitter to start at the top of the picture and move to the upper left and right corners(at the same time/rate) and then down the sides of the picture to meet in the middle at the bottom. Kind of like drawing a box.

  When I apply it allows me to draw the path I would like but is there a way to stop/start drawing this path over time? Or am I way off?
  Hopefully this makes sense. Thanks
