I created an animated logo in AE, brought it into FCP, then exported it as DV/DVCPRO – NTSC. When the logo comes to a stop, it pixilates. How do I keep this graphic, or any graphic, clean?

    Thanks in advance,
    Eric

You’re seeing DV compression. DV is 5:1 compressed and especially if you have areas of bright meeting dark you’ll see some severe pixelation. You need to work in an uncompressed timeline in order to keep the image clean.

also it may be obvious but are you monitoring the output on a broadcast monitor or the canvas? Remember the canvas only gives you a lo rez approximation. The only way to see what you are really getting is via a monior….and as Walter has said, pixelation is the unfortunate curse of the DV codec
