animation for text
Posted by Dovydas Vilkelis on December 3, 2009 at 4:25 pmHi,
I’m absolutely new in Motion and would like to make some animation on text. Let’s say I have a word COW, which fills all screen. In the beginning I would like that a lot of small rectangles bounce in and build that word. Some kind of old fashioned TETRIS. I don’t want all actions explained here, just a few tips for beginning.

December 3, 2009 at 4:31 pmYou could animate the objects in yourself using behaviors or keyframes to build the word. This plug-in may be of help as well: https://idustrialrevolution.com/plugins/particlemetrix/
Hope this helps.Check out my Motion Training DVD

December 3, 2009 at 9:41 pmHow do you imagine that animation with behavior? Do I have to make all that rectangles by hands, animate every of them and build the word? Maybe I don’t explain what I really want. I’ll try to find some examples.

December 5, 2009 at 5:20 pmIt’s hard to find now an example, maybe something similar to https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x3DM8kh_jyg , but I don’t need such complex animation. Let’s try again. White background, simple word “COW” with a shadow. I want, that a lot of particles (simple rectangles) would come from depth, become bigger and build word like tetris. Is there any function in Motion, to make a lot of parts from the letter and animate them?

December 5, 2009 at 8:23 pmIn Motion, any image, including text, can be the source for a replicator or a particle emitter. So you create your text, replicate a square, set the replicator to use an image and drag the text layer to the well, turn off the text layer, then tweak the fill parameters. You can then animate it with a sequence replicator behavior. Below is an example movie; the project file can be downloaded here:

March 29, 2010 at 2:39 pmHi,
finally I found a little bit of time and can continue making my logo animation. I made a small draft and have a few more questions. While all particles fly in on z axis, I would like to make it bounce on y axis. Everything is simple with sequence behavior, but I can move all particles in group only. How to move them individually? And why it becomes blurry, when I add extrude filter?
