Animation codec clips and playing them in the viewer
Quick question this afternoon. I just changed systems. I running FCP5 on a Quad G5 now. (YAY!) Anyhow, something is a bit different with this setup. When I bring in an animated clip using the “animation” codec, I cannot view it in the viewer unless I disable External Video viewing thru the Aja Io. When I load a clip into the viewer, it simply shows a black (or blank?) screen. When I turn off the external viewing, it shows up. I didn’t have this problem with the old system, a Dual 1.25 running FCP4.5.
Not a big deal, but it slows down the old workflow. Somewhere, something must be set different.Any insights?

that’s a problem we’ve had with the Io forever. no workaround except turning it off. great piece of gear otherwise….
