animating warm air from a hand dryer or overhead door heater
Hi all, I’m trying to animate air flow coming from an overhead door heater seen in commercial buildings so that it blows hot or cold air . I just wanted to know what was the best technique to use. So far I was experimenting with the effect fractal noise and using the offsett turbulence and an expression to give me some movement it’s not quite the effect im looking for. I’ve also tried using the raindrops effect too but it ends up looking like a waterfall.. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance ????

What look are you going for? Is it supposed to be realistic or more of a motion graphic?

Maybe emit a stream of particles, and use that as your displacement map. This way you cice some flow and direction to your dedormation. (you might even try a bit of CC glass)

It’s more of a motion graphic for a vector diagram.

Thanks for your suggestion, although I get the basics, I’m still a beginner using after effects. I haven’t used particles before. What I have done is imported by vector layers in and I was playing around with the “air” layer using the effects and then alpha matte it. Perhaps I could upload or send u my file so that you can see what I’m trying to achieve?
