  Animating parameter with a sinusoidal function?

  Hello all,

  So to give you a bit of context, I’m looking to animate a ribbon in a somewhat random, but smooth spiral. I’m pretty new to Cinema 4D but I think it’s Xpresso that works like After Effects’ expressions? I’m looking to animate the wind x and z values (of the cloth dynamics tag) with sinusoidal functions so as to achieve the nice spiral with a bit of turbulence so that it looks natural however I wouldn’t have the faintest idea as to how to input this expression. Ah the trials of learning a new program…

  Of course, if anyone thinks there would be a better way to do this – and considering how new I am to Cinema, I wouldn’t be surprised if there was – I’d greatly appreciate the input.

  P.S. What would be the best way to set up an organic ribbon? My method so far has been to deform a plane with spline wraps and twist it a bit then ‘current state to object’ it and apply cloth dynamics with some wind. I added the twist to help it appear more random, but is it even necessary?
