I’m working on an animation project, and the ideal shape for what I’m doing is a matrix extrude of a cylinder. I would really like to have the maxtrix extrude property change throughout the animation (so that the extruded “tentacles” shift around). Is this possible? I couldn’t find any animation option for the matrix extrude tool.

    Thanks,

    Myles

More or less you are going to need MOGraph’s Extrode Deformer or as an Alternative DPIT, which offers a similar tool. Aniamting using PLA may work, but depending on the number of tentacles could be tedious and longwinded.

There’s a plugin called Fusion Thing that would be another option (https://www.astrofish.com). The Hair module might be another way to go, depending on how important it is for the tentacles to appear to be merged with the object.
