hi, thanks for the tutorial..
but applying outline only works with single, solid lines created by pentool in AE.
i’m trying to treat the letterforms as an “image” object and revealing portions of it over time…
because all the letterforms are not just solid lines, but when you look closely they all have different thickness and ragged/textured edges for each.

i know this is something basic but i’m new to AE and don’t really know which tools to achieve what..
any help will be appreciated..thanks,

There are two tutorials. I’m sure one of them uses the mask tool to draw animated mask shapes that reveal an object (signature). It is uite a tedious task. But with a bit of perseverance and some tweaking of temporal keyframes for smooth playback and youshould be fine. Just remember to preview freuesntly as you move along the timeline.
